Father Engagement Services

Helping Dads Across Northwest Indiana Build Stronger Bonds With Their Children

Why Fatherhood Matters

Active, nurturing fathers are a proven catalyst for stronger families and healthier communities. Decades of research show that when dads are positively involved, children experience better emotional, academic, and social outcomes—and fathers themselves report higher life satisfaction and well‑being.

Further research shows:

  • 2× higher high‑school graduation rates for teens with engaged fathers

  • 40 % lower risk of substance abuse among youth who enjoy consistent dad involvement

  • Reduced behavioral issues: children with caring fathers are 50 % less likely to repeat a grade or be suspended

  • Higher economic stability: households with supportive fathers see lower poverty rates and greater upward mobility

  • Improved mental health for dads: involved fathers report lower stress and stronger relationships with their partners and children

In short, investing in fatherhood isn’t just good for dads—it’s a vital strategy for building resilient kids, thriving families, and safer communities.
